Favipiravir (T-705) protege a los ratones infectados con el virus Influenza de la muerte cuando se administra a 200 mg/kg/día (p.o.). En ratones experimentalmente infectados con el virus Ebola, este compuesto bloquea eficientemente la producción viral, alcanzando una eficacia antiviral del 95% y 99,6% a los 2 y 6 días después del inicio del tratamiento, respectivamente.
